The 12 hot springs in Carlsbad were discovered back in 1300, and since then they were enjoyed by Goethe, Beethoven and Liszt, all inspired by the beuty of this spa. The thermal waters have temperatures between 76 - 161 Fahrenheit, competing only against the famous Marienbad resort, There's a "thirteenth spring" you might like to taste, Becherovka, a locally-produced liqueur considered curative, made of herbs and minerals.
