Prague: the Cernin Palace

Posted 1 year ago by avatar isaac in response to avatar felicity8's question: What is the building where Jan Masaryk was allegedly murdered? (give a different answer) .

This place is the Cernin palace, located between Prague Castle and the Strahov Monastery, it's the third largest palace in Prague. It is closed to the public, but its 135 meter-long façade, decorated with 30 Palladian columns, is worth visiting. It is best known in recent memory for the March 1948 death of Jan Masaryk, son of the first Czech president, who toppled mysteriously from a window on the top floor as the Communists took power. Rumour has it that he was pushed from the window and murdered.
