Jan Palach Square, Prague

Posted 1 year ago by avatar isaac in response to avatar hans's question: Who is that Jan Palach that had a square in Prague named after him? (give a different answer) .

Jan Palach was a philosophy student who burnt himself to death in 1969 in protest for the Soviet invasion. 800,000 people took part to his funeral then, and he is a hero to this day. The square got his name in 1990, after the velvet revolution.
