Prague, Wenceslas Square

Posted 1 year ago by ianis in response to avatar anyideas's question: How is Wnceslas Square in Prague? (give a different answer) .

This is a real tourist trap, and as such I stayed away from it for the most part. The beauty of the wide street is compromised by the tacky tourist shops and burger bars. The imposing facade of the museum is worth a look, but a visit to Wenceslas Square is really only for shopping. Have a wander and you will find many designer shops and shopping centres but not as many smaller shops and boutiques found in other parts of the city. It's not worth trying to get a hotel in the area, there are much better places to stay with cheaper prices and more interesting sights nearby, like the Old Town.
